Welcome! One Hour Cinnamon Rolls gets us started...

I have been wanting to start a food blog for a while and need a place to put all the successful recipes I try. So...

LDS General Conference is one of my favorite weekends.  We get it twice a year.  Two weeks before it comes I start salivating over cinnamon rolls.  It seems to be the only time I make them.  But I HAVE to make them.  Unfortunately, they are time consuming and I like spending my time with my family! Conundrum!  I have found one hour cinnamon rolls to be more than sufficient in satisfying my craving.

One Hour Cinnamon Rolls
Mix and let sit for 15 minutes:
3 1/2 c. warm water
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. oil
6 T. yeast (4 1/2 Saf-Instant)

Then add:
1 T. salt
3 eggs
10 1/2 c. flour--I used my whole wheat flour (ground from winter white wheat)

Mix together for 10 minutes, then sit for 10 minutes. Oil cupboard, dump out dough. Divide in half. Roll one half out into rectangle. Spread with 3/4 stick melted butter and then with cinnamon-sugar mixture. Roll up tight, but not too tight. Divide into 12 rolls and place on greased cookie sheet. Repeat with other half of dough. Let rise. Bake for 12-15 minutes at 400.

Cinnamon-Sugar
1c. sugar
1 T. cinnamon

**I sprinkled 1/2 of one batch with raisins and 1/2 with chocolate chips (Because chocolate chips make everything better). The other batch I actually sprinkled with brown sugar instead of white for a change and the kids loved it.

Cream Cheese Frosting

1 cube butter
1/2 cube cream cheese
2 dashes salt
2 t. vanilla
6 c. powdered sugar
milk

**These usually take me a bit longer than 1 hour--more like 90 minutes for them to get nice and big. Mmmm!  Still better than 3 hours!
